Canadian IBD Nurses
Improving the Quality of Care
for People Living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease
What is CANIBD?
CANIBD was established in 2015 to help meet the need for an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) nursing network where best practices in IBD care could be shared. CANIBD is a Community of Practice for nurses working across Canada in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) with a vision of improving the quality of care of people living with IBD. With this shared goal and recognizing the central role of IBD nurses in delivering care for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada has partnered with CANIBD to work together to improve patient quality of care.
There are over 100 IBD nurses across Canada, with many more providing care to IBD patients as part of their practice. These dedicated nurses provide clinical inpatient and outpatient care, telephone advice, transitional care, and biologic therapy support.
What Our e-Community Offers
